Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisville is seeking to fill a non-tenure track teaching position at the Assistant Professor level beginning August 1, 2024. The position is for the 2024-2025 academic year and is renewable depending on performance and department staffing requirements.


Minimum qualifications for this position includes a Ph.D. degree, or its equivalent, in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field to be awarded no later than December 31, 2024. Experience teaching at the college level is required, and experience with online classes, active learning classrooms, teacher preparation courses, and adaptive learning software is highly preferred.


Job responsibilities will include teaching both online and in-person classes, including large lectures at the general education level, courses for prospective elementary and middle grades teachers, and occasional evening courses. Regular participation in departmental service activities and meetings is expected.
