Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an associate scientist to manage our internal protein inventory. You will be the primary point of contact for antibody inventory and will play a support roll on the purification team within the core protein production group of the Research department. The focus of your job will be supporting the requests for Research materials, which includes protein analysis and purification. Your work will play a critical role in supporting preclinical efforts in developing novel antibody-based therapeutics. 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Regularly monitor, self-assign, and update inventory requests.  

  • Utilize LIMS interface and Excel workbooks to fulfill and document assigned jobs. 

  • Communicate activities to the team and troubleshoot issues as they arise, elevating problems to management when needed. 

  • Manipulate protein samples under sterile conditions inside a biosafety cabinet. 

  • Perform basic antibody purifications and generate analytical package for those products. 

  • Complete general lab upkeep including preparing purification buffers and ordering supplies. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Completed experiments and/or ran equipment in a STEM based laboratory. 
  • Proficient with pipettes or other liquid measurement tools 
  • High attention to detail and successfully accomplishes meticulous work. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle simultaneous responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Able to identify concerns, investigate solutions and escalate to management. 
  • Work in a team-based environment employing a solution-based approach. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1+ years’ biological and/or chemical wet lab experience. 
  • Familiar with biological characterization techniques or purification processes 
  • 2+ years’ experience with aseptic technique, purification, sample handling, and/or data analysis. 
  • Hands-on experience with FPLC purification or HPLC/UPLC instrumentation.
  • Writes or understands advanced Excel formulas and VBA or other coding languages.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $54,700.00 to $91,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
