This position is Part-Time (.50 Full-Time Equivalency)

Position Description

The position of Research Assistant III will engage in research and practice of public health using justice, equity, and liberatory paradigms for the SPHIS community. Target areas include, but not limited to policy analysis, policy change, educational programming, and organizational transformation. The office’s focus on critical consciousness, community-based learning, and global citizenship education will, at times, engage the cultural liberator beyond SPHIS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Education, training, and other development opportunities to inform critical consciousness and critical action

  • Plan, implement and manage workgroups of students, employees, and community members

  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with leaders, coalitions, organizations, and communities

  • Assist with research and evaluation activities

  • Handle confidential and sensitive data with integrity

  • Prepare and lead presentations using various software tools

  • Strategic planning

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, work well under time pressure, manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities, and maintain sensitive information with complete discretion.

  • The candidate will have a strong desire to acquire new skills and become an integral member of the small team that makes up the Office for Culture & Liberation.

  • 90 college credit hours

  • 4 years of experience in the Public Health field

  • Experience with curriculum-building

  • Organizing and mobilizing groups and committees.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
