The department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, School of Public Health and Information Sciences, University of Louisville (http://louisville.edu/sphis/bb/) is inviting applications for a tenure track faculty position at the level of assistant professor preferably beginning January 2025. A later start date is possible, and applications will be considered until the position is filled.
The primary duties for this position will be research, teaching and service. Teaching duties include in person and online instruction in undergraduate and graduate programs of the department and the school and developing courses and tools for programs in bioinformatics and biostatistics, along with contributing to other curriculum initiatives in the department and school’s graduate and undergraduate programs. Research expectations include, but are not limited to, conducting high quality methodological and collaborative research, pursuing collaborative and individual research grants, and active involvement in the consulting center.
While strong candidates from all research areas will be considered, preference will be given to applicants with a solid background in functional data analysis. The department currently maintains successful an online MS program, an online certificate program and a doctoral program in biostatistics. It also takes part in school based public health undergraduate and masters’ programs.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related discipline by December 31, 2024. Screening of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
