The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Louisville is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of an instructor term position, which will begin in the spring semester of 2025. Review of applications will begin upon receipt and continue until the position is filled. The instructor is expected to teach primarily undergraduate courses in the following program areas:
Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering
The ideal candidate should be comfortable teaching a broad range of core undergraduate Computer Science and Engineering courses. These subjects include, but are not limited to, programming languages such as Java, C/C++ and Python, Data Structures, Algorithms, Databases, Software Engineering, Discrete Math, and Capstone Design. The candidates must have a strong grasp of the fundamental knowledge and skills in computer science and engineering, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for making meaningful, positive contributions to diverse students’ learning experiences. We seek candidates who are prepared to teach face-to-face and/or online course delivery and who are willing to apply the evidence-based educational practices to continuously improve computer science and engineering education. The instructor will provide mentorship and support for students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. degree in computer science or computer engineering, with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or computer engineering.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience required. Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies is desirable.
Prior computer science and/or engineering experience in industry is also welcome.
