Basic ability to read and write and six months of experience. Valid driver's license, insurable by the university's insurance carrier and able to operate manual transmission vehicles. Must pass pre-employment physical. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.Position Description:
Daily duties include light to heavy lifting, moving equipment, furniture, and miscellaneous items between various locations including up and down stairs, loading and unloading trucks. Applicant must be able to maneuver furniture and equipment using furniture dollies and other resources appropriate for the job. Applicant must be able to lift 25 - 50 pounds. Applicant must be able to perform renovation cleanup requiring lifting and hauling debris, drywall and lumber. Assist other trades with construction and repair, including but not limited to shoveling, pouring concrete, and moving heavy items. Applicant must be able to operate a box truck and forklift, occasionally operate heavy equipment. Applicant must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier. Applicant will also perform special setups for various departments including commencement ceremonies and assembling displays at various locations. Applicant must be able to work alone as well as with other team members. Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
