High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Commercial driver's license may be required to be obtained within first six months of employment, Pre-employment physical exam required. Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier.

Position Description:

The Painter II position will perform skilled work in painting, caulking, and patch finishing exterior and interior surfaces of buildings and other structures, surfaces, and equipment. May require working at heights using extended ladders, lifts or scaffolding.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and clean surfaces by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, sanding machines, dusters, and paint removers.

  • Mix paints and allied products.

  • Caulk fenestration and other openings when required.

  • Apply undercoats and finished coats of paint to the exterior and interior of buildings, furniture, and other structures by means of brush, roller, or spray equipment.

  • Apply waterproof material to exterior of buildings.

  • Erect and remove portable mechanical scaffolding.

  • Clean brushes, containers, spray guns, and other related equipment.

  • Supervise unskilled and semi-skilled helpers.

  • Paint automobiles and other mechanical equipment.

  • Rig two-point stage and work on the stage as required.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
