Math Central+ Tutor
Job Description
The Math Central+ Center supports the retention and success objectives through peer advising and course remediation.
- Tutor and provide academic support to students in mathematics individually, in small groups or as an embedded tutor in a course. Such services may be provided in-person/on campus or virtually as determined by the supervisor.
- Communicate effectively using both oral and written skills for reports, email, student feedback, etc.
- Maintain working knowledge of educational software programs (e.g., MyMathLab) and instructional techniques and tools.
- Distribute, inventory, and maintain MC+ equipment (e.g., calculators).
- May attend additional training sessions and Professional Development Opportunities related to position or at the supervisor’s discretion.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Education/Training to include Math coursework, or AS degree, or equivalent Math competencies.
- Completion and/or knowledge of at least all MDE content
- Knowledge of MyMathLab
- Knowledge of complementary discipline content (e.g., physics or engineering) for tutoring in those fields.
