The Assessment and Planning Coordinator supports institutional effectiveness, accreditation, planning, and decision-making through the coordination of evaluation, assessment, and planning processes at Virginia Peninsula Community College. Duties include:
  • The position coordinates and provides ongoing support for program outcome assessment, general education outcome assessment, program review, and administrative and student support unit outcome assessment across all programs and units at the College.
  • The position supports institutional and strategic planning activities.
  • The position provides technical and logistical support for the development and administration of broad-based College surveys and related data collection initiatives.
  • The position compiles institutional performance data for reporting, analyzes, visualizes, and presents information to various internal and external stakeholders.
  • The position supports the development, evaluation, and reporting of strategic initiatives and the Quality Enhancement Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, to include serving on College committees.
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience with program evaluation or assessment, measurement, analysis, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience developing, conducting, and administering surveys or other qualitative research techniques.

Knowledge:
  • Thorough knowledge of assessment practices and analyzing assessment and outcome data to derive meaningful insights.
  • Thorough knowledge of survey and research techniques and methodology.
  • Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis, interpreting, and summarizing data.
  • General knowledge of data visualization, translating data into easily understandable formats using visual tools and narratives.
  • General knowledge of strategic planning practices.

Skills:
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent data visualization skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work at all campus locations.
