Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Mechatronic Assistant Instructor to support the teaching of advanced manufacturing courses. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering high-quality education, preparing instructional materials, and providing hands-on support to students in both classroom and laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate and assist the lead instructor in planning and delivering lectures, labs, and practical sessions on advanced manufacturing and mechatronics.
Occasionally or an on-going basis, collaborate with an adult basic education instructor to promote integrated education and training activities.
Prepare and organize instructional materials, including lab equipment, software, and other teaching aids.
Provide one-on-one and group tutoring to students, helping them understand complex concepts and complete assignments.
Supervise and guide students during laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Evaluate student performance through assessments, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback.
Attend professional development as required to stay updated with the latest advancements in mechatronics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Collaborate and participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement of course content with DWED staff and internal/external partners.
Support the lead instructor in administrative tasks such as grading, attendance tracking, and maintaining student records.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
Preferred Qualifications
Mechatronics certificate/certifications
Some field experience
3+ years of advanced manufacturing experience,Mechatronics focus
Electrical,pneumatic,hydraulic,& mechanical knowledge
Experience teaching adults or facilitating training
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
Knowledge of student learning management information systems such as Lumens/Amatrol
