Cleveland Clinic’s J3-1 Coronary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides care to patients with various medical problems and acute/chronic cardiac diagnosis that may be life-threatening or require advanced therapies. As a Clinical Technician on this team, you will collaborate with fellow RNs, CTs and HUCs to help facilitate the best patient experience possible. This unit offers an excellent environment in which to learn and grow your skills, all while making a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
- Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, 3mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
- Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within new hire period
- One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)

Physical Requirements:
- Full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
- Extensive standing and walking
- Medium Work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects
- Physical Demand requirements in excess of those for Medium Work
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
