Ball State University is seeking a part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Instructor of English to teach 1-2 classes Spring 2026 semester in our award-winning, first-year writing program. This position will be a one-semester contract with possibility of renewal.What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ball State University is seeking a part-time, non-tenure-track position for an Instructor of English to teach 1-2 classes Spring 2026 semester in our award-winning, first-year writing program. This position will serve a Spring 2026 term with possibility of renewal dependent upon enrollment need and funding availability.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment and at least one year experience teaching first-year writing at the college level.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or terminal degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field from an accredited college or university by date of appointment; three or more years’ experience teaching first-year writing at the college level; experience with teaching or scholarship in one or more of these areas: Creative Writing, English Education, African American Studies, Afro-Latinx Studies, Ethnic Studies, Diverse or Global Rhetorics, Raciolinguistics, and/or Antiracist Pedagogy.
