College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, access, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury. Help patients at Gracewood campus in restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as, general independence, to disabled persons.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Patient Care:

• Administers manual exercises, massage and/or traction to help relieve pain, increase the client's strength, and decrease or prevent deformity and crippling.
• Develops and participates in health promotion program, group activities, or discussions to promote client health, facilitate social adjustment, alleviate stress, and prevent physical or mental disability. Evaluates the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
• Assists clients improve decision-making, abstract reasoning, memory, sequencing, coordination, and perceptual skills, using programs
• Tests and evaluates clients' physical and mental abilities and analyzes medical data to determine diagnosis and realistic rehabilitation goals for clients

Treatment Team:

• Confers with the treatment team, medical practitioners, and appropriate others to plan, implement, and assess the treatment program
• Instructs family, and individuals, and treatment teams in treatment procedures to be continued including recommending changes in living environment

Treatment Plans:

• Plans, prepares, and carries out individually designed rehabilitative treatment programs
• Records prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in chart or enters information into produce report

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program accredited by ACOTE or AOTA with a minimum of 2 years of OT experience required.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 11
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
