Augusta University Libraries provide books, ebooks, government publications, journals, audiovisuals, databases, historical collections, and more, in support of student and faculty research. We provide research assistance in person and electronically and also provide tours and instruction classes for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. Students can request appointments with librarians, including specialized medical reference librarians, for more in-depth research needs. Thousands of research journals are available electronically ' in person and remotely - through research databases held in GALILEO and elsewhere, with many available full text.
Job Summary
This position will be responsible for the management of the Creative Technology Lab and Virtual Dimensions Studio, and will oversee programming, technology implementation, and procedure updates as necessary to advance and maintain the makerspace.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
PROVIDES DAILY ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT SERVICES: The Greenblatt Library's Creative Technology Lab (CTL) and the Virtual Dimensions Studio (VDS) makerspace areas: calibrates, cleans, troubleshoots, and maintains 3D, virtual reality equipment and software. develops and revises makerspace protocols and procedures, researches, prepares proposals, and implements new technology and programs, develop and maintain training materials and procedure manuals for library staff, trains/demonstrates new technology to staff; keeps staff updated on new equipment or procedures, compiles data for reports and to analyze usage of services and resources, ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations in use of lab equipment, assists library patrons to use images in accordance with U.S. Copyright Laws, processes invoicing for cost recovery project materials and to manage supply inventory, and uses online resources to provide reference support to library patrons in the CTL.
PROVIDES QUALITY DAILY BASIC INSTRUCTION AND OUTREACH SERVICE: The Creative Technology Lab (CTL) and Virtual Dimensions Studio (VDS): serves as Chair of the CTL Advisory Group and participates in outreach planning and activities, maintain makerspace LibGuide to inform library patrons about available projects and technology in makerspace procedures, self-service troubleshooting guides, frequently asked questions, and an overview of the CTL and VDS, assist library patrons 1-on-1 during drop-ins and by appointment to effectively and safely use available CTL and VDS equipment and resources, uses software to create and modify 3D models; Prepares 3D prints/scans for requestors to support, student learning and faculty research, coordinates, creates, schedules, prepares, and implements events and workshops showcasing CTL and VDS resources, and participates in meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development.
PROVIDES QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE USING KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Library resources and referring customers to appropriate resources or personnel to assist with their patient care, student learning, and faculty research: assists library patrons in using library resources at Information Desk through phone, online chat, and face-to-face supporting student learning and faculty research, logs results of reference transactions in LibAnswer's RefAnalytics, participates in shelf reading duties as assigned; shifts materials as required, utilizes the Integrated Library System (ILS) to charge, discharge, and renew library materials with accuracy and efficiency; edit/create patron records; and other ILS functions, and follows and enforces Access Services Procedures, University Libraries Procedures, and Augusta University Policies.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a STEAM or Educational Technology related field and experience with 3D modeling tools, 3d printers, data visualization software, virtual reality equipment, apps and software, customer service experience, and experience with work requiring a high level of technological skill.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in libraries, academic makerspaces, or Information Technology
Experience using Integrated Library Systems (including ALMA and/or FOLIO)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient knowledge of technology and software related to 3D printing, virtual reality, Cricut, and other consumer-grade makerspace equipment
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases such as Adobe, DocuSign, online cloud storage systems, and online resources
Proficient knowledge of office technology, including copier, printer, scanner, and telephone
SKILLS
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills along with public relations skills
Awareness of and increased effort towards protecting patron confidentiality
Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude to establish effective working relationships, professional rapport, and effectively accomplish work within a university setting that includes a wide array of individuals, groups, policies, and processes

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday
Pay Grade: B7
Salary: Minimum $20.29/hr - Midpoint $25.34/hr
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
