Software Development Engineer, Corp - Global Procurement
Job Description
Amazon Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is seeking a Software Development Engineer to help automate Amazon's procurement.
In this role, you will be working in one of the world's largest and most complex supply chain business environments.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Solution Design & Architecture:
- Design and architect end-to-end cloud-based solutions utilizing AWS services like Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, Bedrock, SageMaker, and related technologies.
- Develop scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures for Gen AI-based solutions, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead technical discussions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align architectural designs with business requirements.
2. Pipeline Development & Integration:
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations for Generative AI models using AWS Bedrock.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and manage version control for AI models and cloud infrastructure.
- Develop APIs and microservices to facilitate seamless interaction between Gen AI models and business applications.
3. Machine Learning Support:
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to integrate machine learning models into cloud-based solutions.
- Understand and implement basic ML concepts such as model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and scaling within AWS infrastructure.
- Provide guidance on model training and tuning using AWS SageMaker.
4. Security & Compliance:
- Ensure solutions adhere to AWS best practices for security, governance, and compliance (e.g., IAM, data encryption, monitoring, etc.).
- Conduct security assessments and implement controls to protect sensitive data, especially when working with AI models.
5. Monitoring & Optimization:
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms for AWS services and AI model performance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and other AWS tools.
- Continuously optimize cloud resources and pipelines to improve performance and reduce costs.

- AWS Expertise: Strong experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, S3, API Gateway, and CloudFormation/cdk.
- DevOps & Automation: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (cdk), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Integration Skills: Proficient in building RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services with AWS cloud solutions.
- Data Handling: Experience with database technologies (NoSQL & SQL), ETL processes, and data storage best practices in the cloud.
2. Machine Learning & AI:
- Basic understanding of ML concepts such as model training, deployment, inference, and monitoring.
- Ability to collaborate with data scientists and integrate ML models into production environments.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
