The Product Operations group is looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a critical part of the hardware development and product launch process. We ensure successful fulfillment for product launches and ongoing support, grow the capabilities of our current systems and supply chain to meet our needs, and drive continuous improvement for the company.
As a Senior Operations Program Manager (OPM) for Project Kuiper, you are the focal representation of everything Operations and Supply Chain related. You will orchestrate plans and drive solutions for Kuiper business teams in productization.
Key job responsibilities
The Sr. OPM in Early Engagement focuses on providing clear vision to Kuiper business teams on how to productize new business concepts, leading to approval and execution of new product development. The Sr. OPM will have proven persuasive and excellent communication skills to collaborate with Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams across various Amazon entities. This role will be directly responsible for providing product costs, other costs associated with operations and supply chain to develop the product, as well as setting high level strategies for operations and supply chain for the life time of the products.
Will be:
- Single Threaded Owner (STO) for all aspects of Operations and Supply Chain, including cost, during Early Engagement phase.
- Able to set forward looking direction and influence strategies to help develop product line roadmap.
- Define and guide decisions on type of Variable Engagement Model (VEM), appropriate for the specific product, customer need, launch schedule and financial targets.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience managing complex technology projects working directly with engineering teams
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing for complex systems/devices
- 3+ years of experience leading high performing, technologically savvy teams
- Experience leading and defining requirements and driving these across diverse organizations
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related, or equivalent work experience
- Excellent analytical and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in relevant industries with a holistic view and keen business acumen
- Excellent understanding of technical requirements for technology integration
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with the design and working of complex systems
- Experience understanding of product development process in Consumer Electronics
- Proven track record of complex and creative problem solving and the desire to create new processes or simplify and improve on current ones
- Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
- Keen eye for details, intuitive, ability to look around the corner and thrive in ambiguous situation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
