Atlassian Admin Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Technology-Low Earth Orbit Satellites

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Kuiper Productivity Engineering (KPE) is seeking an Atlassian Administrator with Infrastructure and automation experience. This role requires in-depth knowledge across the Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo services along with DevOps knowledge for upgrades and maintenance in the AWS GovCloud environment. This is a hands-on position where your daily activities will range from strategic planning to new system development to supporting the customers that depend on our services.
Key job responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expert on all workflows end-to-end, customizations, marketplace apps, management and configuration in Atlassian.
- Upgrade, configure, operate, and support Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo services.
- Develop customized solutions, including design, implementation, quality control, end-to-end testing plans in multiple environments (dev/test/stage/prod), troubleshooting and bug fixing. These solutions may require custom code development, API creation, and integration with other AWS services.
- Troubleshoot application issues and add-on integration issues in the Atlassian implementation.
- Determine ways to optimize/improve setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality may or may not meet user requests.
- Develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
- Develop automation for Blue/Green deployments and post-upgrade testing.
- Install, manage and administer add-ons, plugins, and extensions for Atlassian Data Center products.
- Develop process workflows for Jira including field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes.
- Research, Diagnose, and Monitor performance bottlenecks.
- Write documentation and provide technical training for cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will function as both an Atlassian administrator and DevOps Engineer. You will operate two distinct Atlassian stacks in AWS GovCloud, develop automation for upgrades/patching/testing, and enhance observability of the systems. You will work with stakeholders and senior engineers to design and develop custom solutions and integrations between Atlassian tools and other services in a secure manner.

- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
