College/Department Information
The Office of Military and Veteran Services at Augusta University is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and professional individual to provide excellent customer service directly to prospective and new military-affiliated students and their families. As a primary customer service contact for the Office of Military and Veteran Services, this position works closely with students, Veterans Affairs, and other parties who play a role in providing educational support for military-affiliated students. The Student Records Coordinator 1 will support the persistence and retention of students receiving VA educational benefits through processing of required paperwork in a timely manner, advocating on behalf of the student when it is needed, and supporting the goals of the Enrollment Management Division and the Office of Military and Veteran Services. Job Summary
Provides initial guidance to walk-ins, callers, and answers questions about VA Benefit eligibility and chapters. They correct records from students to certify the student's hours in VA ONCE and set the student up in 3rd Party contracts to keep enrolled students from being dropped from their courses until the VA is invoiced and pays Augusta University. This position does an initial reconciliation of their accounts and adjusts student contracts as necessary. This position may manages other military educational or vocational programs. This position reviews military waiver application and supporting documentation. If applications meet the criteria, this person processes those items in BANNER. MVS offers programming for student veterans throughout the year and assists with those events on the main campus and assists staff events at Ft. Gordon and in the community as well.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Provide excellent customer service for callers, when emailed and face-to-face.
STUDENT ASSISTANCE: Provide correct information to students and accurate certifications to Veterans Affairs or other military program so that students can receive housing and book stipends, and AU received payment as soon as possible. Place the student in 3rd party contracts to prevent them from being dropped from classes.
ADMINISTRATIVE: Assist Students to submit Military and Recently separated tuition waivers with the required documentation. Add appropriate codes to BANNER/SLATE in a timely manner.
OTHER DUTIES: Assist with other related duties and participate in military affiliated student events as required.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of higher education or relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Familiarity with BANNER/SLATE, VA ONCE, VA Educational Benefits rules and regulations, GOArmyEd processes, and good conflict resolution skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday
Pay Band: B4
Salary: $17.02/hourly - $20.02/hourly

Conditions of Employment
