The 5NE Telemetry Unit is a 25-bed stroke designated unit that supports a diverse population, including those experiencing alcohol withdrawal, dementia and other medical concerns. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, additional education and advanced positions, such as Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager.

This position provides opportunities for growth within a vast variety of specialties with the ability to advance to ANM, Nurse Manager, and charge nurse. Engagement in such work fosters innovation, presents meaningful challenges and delivers rewarding outcomes, all while cultivating the competencies necessary for advancement into leadership.

A caregiver in this role works nights from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.

• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.

• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).

• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.

• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

• Document in patients’ medical records.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification with 30 days of hire

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association within one year of hire

• New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
