Summary

We are seeking a qualified, experienced, professional who possesses advanced knowledge of clinical research practices for a full-time Research Technician II. This position will function in the clinical research section of the Department of Neurosurgery. The Research Technician II will function in a capacity in which they assist and facilitate ongoing clinical research trials. The Research Technician II will provide professional skills involving patient related research efforts, and will be involved in some aspects of data processing and analysis.

The Research Technician II facilitates data analysis and organization, under the supervision of the PI and Clinical Research Manager.

The position is located at both Baylor College of Medicine Main Campus and the Baylor Medicine Jamail Specialty Care Center, at the Texas Medical Center.

Job Duties

  • Serve as a research technician for assigned sponsored and/or investigator-initiated protocols.
  • Analyzing data from experiments.
  • Assist in data analyses for various experimental tasks, and subsequent uploading to designated servers.
  • Assist in data structure management and organization, assist in patient visits to download chronic data and in-clinic data.
  • Work on data preprocessing pipelines and preprocess all incoming data from experiments for future analysis.
  • Serve as a back-up personnel to consent potential patients for participation in research studies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Health Administration preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory aspects of clinical research is a must.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and implement research studies and protocols.
  • Interpersonal skills to work in a group.

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
