Job Description
Summary
The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an experienced registered nurse for its cardiology practice located in Fannin Tower. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing nursing-level care via telephone and MyChart in order to assist patients with clinical questions, prescription management, and antithrombotic medication management. Experience with INR sliding scales is highly preferred.
Job Duties
- Provide support to patients via telephone and MyChart with clinical questions and concerns.
- Manage prescription refills and prior authorization requests.
- Assist patients with medication and dosing of antithrombotic medications.
- Document encounters in the patient medical record.
- Enter orders as appropriate on behalf of physicians.
- Communicate with external providers regarding orders and care of patients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Two years of relevant experience as a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Degrees in lieu of experience will not be accepted.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
