Job Description
Summary
The Section of General Internal Medicine is seeking a Coordinator, Patient Support Sevices who will be responsible for coordination of patients at our San Felipe Primary Care Clinic, including front desk activities, scheduling patient appointments, maintaining patient records, and entering orders for patient tests. The Coordinator will manage and coordinate patient referrals, as well as provide administrative support for physicians as needed.
Job Duties
- Assists with front desk activities including patient check-in and check-out
- Coordinates patient scheduling and referral loops
- Independently manages clinical administrative documentation including patient faxes and forms
- Coordinates with health care facilities for patient surgeries, tests, or procedures.
- Assembles medical records and insurance information for patient appointments.
- Assists with insurance pre-authorizations or issues.
- Provides administrative support for physicians as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Insurance verification experience.
- Exposure to medical billing.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
Work Authorization Requirement:
