AsLeadStationary Engineer, you will inspect,operateand maintain various facility equipment throughoutthe hospital, such asHVAC, emergencypowerand fire protection systems. Servingas a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you willofferinitial resourcesfor stationary engineering related questions and concerns.While you may not interact directly with patients and visitors, your effortsultimately enhancetheir experience and promote the positive and safe Cleveland Clinicenvironmentthey have come to expect.

A caregiver in this position works days, Monday - Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm, with rotational weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Will be assigned as a lead go-to contact within certain projects across the enterprise.

  • Ensures that policies and procedures are communicated and upheld by staff.

  • Monitors department activities and provides coaching and feedback to team members whenappropriate.

  • Operates a high-pressure, steam powerhouse.

  • Monitors andmaintainsHVAC related source and distribution equipment such as steam, chilled water, water chemistry,humidificationand air handling, etc.

  • Monitors and responds to fire protection systems.

  • Responds to all emergency calls.

  • May test andmonitoremergencygeneratorand transfer equipment.

  • Assistco-workers with station engineering-related questions,commentsand concerns in a Subject Matter Expertcapacity.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Third Class Stationary Engineers License from State of Ohio

  • Five years of experience in steam distribution systems, condensate systems, large chiller systems, water distribution systems, coolingtowersand/or air handling systems(One year of a Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship Program may offset for one year of experience requirement)

  • Working knowledge of blueprints and electrical schematics

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Knowledge of fire protection equipment, building automation equipment, emergencygeneratorsand controls

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

  • Ability to inspect equipment

  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures

  • Ability to distinguish color

  • Ability to climb ladders

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.46

Maximum hourly: $51.03

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
