As CS Lead Respiratory Care, you will provide managerial and clinical leadershipofyour assigned team. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) tosupport a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, criticalillnessesand related symptoms. In this role, combining your skills with a compassionate attitude and outlook can make a difference in their lives and help promote a journey toward recovery or stability.
A caregiver in this role works a two-week rotating schedule with 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m. shifts, including every other weekend, resulting in a three-day weekend every other week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff asdesignatedby departmental management.
Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and actas a resource person for staff.
Assign therapist workload andadjuststaffing based on patient volume.
Participate in continuous quality improvement.
Provide feedback on staff performance.
Assistwith development and implementation of Respiratory TherapyPolicy/Procedures/Protocols.
Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintainingcommunication with the multidisciplinary care team.
Assistwith developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff,nursingand LIPs.
Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable).
Perform patient educationregardingtreatment and care of respiratory illness/disease topatientand family (where applicable).
Ifdesignatedas a Technical Consultant by the Blood Gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate’sDegreeand threeyears of experience in Respiratory Therapy,including critical care or a specialty environment
ORBachelor'sDegreeandtwoyears of experience
Graduate of an accreditedProgramofRespiratory Therapy
Current licensure as aRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board
Basic Life Support (BLS)CertificationthroughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)Certification through theAmerican Heart Association (AHA) and/or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS)Certification
Completion of aNeonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) throughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)CertificationthroughtheAmerican Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sDegree
Physical Requirements:
Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Requires normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
May require sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $30.41
Maximum hourly: $46.38
