Fairview Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is a Level II Trauma Center that specializes in general emergency/trauma, cardiac services, sepsis care, and offers SANE (sexual assault nurse examiner) services.AsaClinicalTechnician on our team, you willassistwith basic patient care,maintainroomcleanlinessanddemonstrateempathy and compassion in all activities and interactions. Your work plays a direct role in our mission to continuously provide patients with the best healthcare experience possible.
A caregiver in this role works days from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. with weekend requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide orassistwith patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as takingvital signsandweight,assistingpatients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoringdevicesand removing urinary FoleyCatheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical,mentaland emotional conditions to an RN.
Assistwith keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)within new hire period
Nursing students: required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience
Additionaleducation/training may substitute for some/all the stated experience(i.e. mental health experience)
Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered
Nursing studentswho have recently completed aminimum of one clinical rotationas part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two or more years of patient care experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $19.25
Maximum hourly: $25.95
