The laboratory of Dr. Alexey Danilov is seeking a highly motivated individual who values teamwork but also aspires to become a project driver. Dr. Danilov's laboratory investigates mechanisms of drug resistance in B-cell malignancies. Lymph nodes and bone marrow are sites where neoplastic B-cells are exposed to tumor microenvironment. Dr. Danilov’s laboratory research focuses on the role of pro-survival pathways in this setting, and how this signaling can be targeted. In addition to a variety of in vitro models of the stromal niche, Dr. Danilov’s laboratory models lymphoid disease in vivo. Dr. Danilov’s research is highly translational and involves work with primary samples from patients with lymphoid malignancies. Based on laboratory findings, Dr. Danilov's group originates early-phase clinical trials, allowing for verification of laboratory findings in the clinical setting. The lab also conducts analysis of correlative samples from patients enrolled in clinical trials.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Perform primary cell culture, co-culture assays, and multi-parameter flow cytometry.

  • Employ excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, effectively lead a project in a translational research environment in order to successfully meet project goals.

  • Perform and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks.

  • Design and execute experiments, critically interpret experimental results, and present data in a cogent and meaningful manner.

  • Participate in the preparation of grant applications and publications.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Ph.D. degree with research experience; a track record of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

  • Solid knowledge in cancer immunology, molecular and cell biology, and biochemistry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Highly motivated and self-directed applicants interested in translational research in cancer immunotherapy are strongly encouraged to apply. However, applicants with related training and experience will be given priority.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.25 - $37.82 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
