About The Role

GEICO is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to joinourClaims Innovationteam.In this role,you willowncomplex analytical solutionsendtoend,integratingadvanced data analysis, modeling, and visualization to deliver scalable,productionreadyinsights for Claims leadership.

YouwillleverageSQL,Snowflakebackeddata models, and Power BI to translate ambiguous business problems into governed,highperformancedashboards and analytical assets. You will partneracrossClaimsInnovation, Product, Engineering, andOperationteams to improveclaimsoperational efficiency, loss performance, and customer experience, while mentoring junior analysts and helping mature GEICO’s claims analytics ecosystem.

KeyResponsibilities: 

Data AnalysisandModeling

  • Independently lead complex, ambiguous analyticsclaimsinitiatives from problem definition through delivery, with clearly defined business outcomes andsuccessfulmetrics.

  • Translate unclear stakeholder requests into structured hypotheses, analytical frameworks, anddecisionreadyinsightsfor senior leadership.

  • Own theendtoenddesign and delivery of complexclaimsanalytical data models andhighimpactPower BI dashboards, delivering clear, usable insights through strong storytelling and thoughtful design.

  • Write andoptimizeSQL queries to extract and transformclaimsdata from enterprise sources, solving ambiguous analytical problems through deeprootcauseanalysis and insight generation.

  • Lead sophisticated analyticalproblemsolvingusing DAX, statistical methods, and trend analysis.

  • Ensure analytical rigor, data integrity, and governance across all owned datasets and reporting solutions.

  • Establish and drive adoption of visualization, performance, and scalability standards across the team.

Collaboration &Leadership

  • Partner withcrossfunctionalstakeholders to define, document, and prioritize data,analyticaland project requirements, translating businessobjectivesinto clear analytical scopes, success metrics, and delivery plans.

  • Supportclaimsinnovation workshops and ideation sessions by providingdatadriveninsights and structured analytical perspectives.

  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities in analyticstoolingand platforms from both technical and financial perspectives.

  • Partner withManagerand Director to helpestablishteam priorities, goals, and delivery plans.

  • Mentor junior and associate analysts, providing guidance on SQL, data modeling, DAX, visualization best practices, and analytical rigor.

  • Review and audit work to ensure adherence to quality, performance, anddeliverablestandards.

  • Contribute to building repeatable analytical standards and a culture of continuous learning.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with a minimum of 6 years of analytical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4+years’ experiencein P&C insuranceindustry, preferably within claims.

  • Expert levelproficiencyin Power BI, including semantic modeling, advanced DAX, and visualization best practices.

  • Knowledge of SQL, with experience performing data pulls, joins, and aggregations on large datasets.

  • Strong analytical andproblem-solvingskills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.

  • Knowledge of innovative methodologies, processes, and principles.

  • Effective communicator and collaborator, with the ability to partnercross functionallytotranslatedata and analytical requirementsintodelivermeasurableand actionableoutcomes.

  • Ability to adapt and learn quickly in afastpacedenvironment while balancing multiple priorities.

Annual Salary

$100,450.00 - $172,200.00
