The University of Miami Health System (“UHealth”) IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Systems Administrator to work onsite in Miami, Florida.
The Systems Administrator maintains and administers computer networks and equipment to ensure optimal performance in and fast recovery from emergency situations. The incumbent ensures effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and related infrastructure.
Core Responsibilities:
Monitors system logs and activity on all servers.
Replaces defective hardware on clientsand servers.
Installs,maintains, andupdates project and task tracking tools.
Manages Windows account maintenance,including additions, changes,and removals.
Maintainsintegrityof Windows accounts and data on theenterprise’sfile server.
Manages Windows security features to protect confidential information while allowingappropriate access.
Researches,installs, and tests softwareupdates and patches to supportapplications and various operating systems.
Researchesnew technologiesand presentsrecommendations on major hardware and software purchases for theenterprise.
Updates software and hardware inventory and documents any changes to either.
Provides training and opportunities forlearning Windows systems to all enterpriseemployees and consultants.
Develops, supports, andmaintainsWindowsfileand printsservers for all clients.
Provides scripting and programming support to all major projects within the enterprise.
Develops andmaintainsservice level agreements with the various user departments and enterprise business units.
Prepares and monitors budgets for each area of functional responsibility.
Works closely with others within the IT function to define metrics,which are used to measure and communicate the efficiencyand effectiveness oftheWindows operating environment.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Manage over 20 security department production servers for card access, video recording, locking systems, etc.
Manage and install application software and software upgrades, on public safety servers and workstations
User access, login, and authentication support for Public Safety applications
Support peripherals critical to operations (ID badge printers, receipt/report printers, scanners, docking stations, monitors, keyboards, etc.)
Install and upgrade client workstation that connect to above servers (over 50 located throughout UHealth campus and satellites)
Keep hardware up to date, retired and replaced as necessary.
Manage user and user groups to above devices
Trouble shoot issues.
Manage and install peripherals such as ID badge printers, cameras, receipt printers, etc
Work with vendors and IT to plan upgrades and new system installations.
Aid in forensic video extractions for incident investigations and compliance reviews, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Build and maintain Smartsheet automations to enhance workflow accountability and operational visibility.
Provide assistance in the management of key systems: Genetec, ProWatch, Phoenix, Perspective, and Revcord.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’sdegree in relevant field
Minimum3years of relevant experience
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze,organizeand prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, andweekendsas necessary.
