Unit Description:

6A is a 23 bed post interventional telemetry unit.  The unit primarilyserves  patientswho have undergone cardiaccatherizationproceduresincluding interventional procedures and electrophysiology. Staff receive specialized training for postcatherization,femeralsheaths andTikosyn.

Job Description:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care teammember

• Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures

• Performs routine duties toassistmedical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certificationrequiredor successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.

• Must provide a letter from their school verifying the completion of their first year clinicals.

• Basic Life Support-Applicants will have30 daysfrom their hired date to provide completion of this certification if theydon’thave it already.
