Job Summary
The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham’s unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. We share the commitment to delivering a coordinated and comprehensive experience across all locations, ensuring the appropriate level of care is available to every patient across our care delivery sites.Located at 195 Worcester Street Wellesley, MA, our Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care practice delivers a full range of preventive and health maintenance care. We not only treat a range of acute and chronic health problems, but we also coordinate our patients’ care when they need treatment by specialists.
Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to clinical support, the Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner.
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice on-site Monday through Friday (9:00am- 5:30pm).
Responsibilities:
Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues), ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visit, organization of paper chart, etc.
Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs.
Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections and EKG’s.
Obtains blood specimens in accordance with established procedures, while maintaining a professional, patient-sensitive atmosphere.
Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.
Prepares requisitions and submits specimens to the laboratory.
Sends in electronic prescriptions for patients that have been instructed by providers.
Communicates with patients regarding laboratory, imaging results and prescription instructions per practice protocol.
Cleans and restocks exam rooms.
Maintains the strictest confidentiality of any and all patient records including but not limited to treatment, diagnosis, history, medication, and financial status.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
