This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well asadditionaloperating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG,sleepand rehabilitation services. A caregiver in this position will work nights and on-call from 7:30am to 4:00pm or 7:00pm to 7:30am with weekend and holiday requirements. This role will be stationed throughout the new CC Neurological Institute.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Inspect, repair, monitor,maintainand troubleshoot Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the facility.
- Document andmaintainrecords of inspections and work performed.
- Inspect andmaintainall temperature, humidity, and data logging devices, including meters and gauges.
- Utilize the building management system (BMS) to address customer service requests, adjust temperature set points, and start and stop equipment.
- Receive and respond to work orders from the computerized maintenance management system.
- Respond to alarms and alerts appropriately.
- Work atadditionalCleveland Clinic locations as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- HighSchoolDiploma or GED
- ValidDriver’sLicense(VDL)and insurable driving record
- Three years of experience with chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers and/or pumps OR military experience as a UtilitiesMan (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C) or a similar role
- Understanding of the tools and techniques used tomaintain,diagnoseand repair HVAC systems
- Basic knowledge of building management systems
- Ability to read blueprints
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience troubleshooting and repairing building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC control systems.
Hands-on experience with low-voltage controls (under 50 volts), including control wiring and diagnostics.
Knowledge of heating and cooling system automation and sequence of operations.
Experience troubleshooting VAV boxes, airflow issues, and water flow/hydronic systems.
Familiarity with HVAC mechanical systems in large commercial, healthcare, or institutional environments.
Ability to interpret HVAC control diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
Experience working with pneumatic, electronic, and direct digital control (DDC) systems preferred.
Building automation platform experience preferred (Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Schneider, etc.).
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills related to HVAC systems.
Refrigeration experience is acceptable; however, candidates with direct building automation and controls experience are strongly preferred.
Experience diagnosing, repairing, and replacing HVAC control valves, actuators, sensors, dampers, and related field components.
