Fairview Hospital's Postpartum Mother/Baby unit cares for mothers and their new infants by providing education and coordinating a simple transition to home.As a Nurse Manager on this unit, you will manage the delivery of care in an ambulatory setting. In this role, you will provide diagnostic or therapeutic services to patients while offering clinical supervision,maintainingqualityoutcomesand supervising all aspects of personnel management and development.Ultimately, yourdedication and leadership help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience for everyone, whether they are patients,visitorsor fellow caregivers.
A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage practice of professional nursing and delivery of nurse care on assignedunit.
Establish clinical direction for nursing care delivery, provide clinicalsupervisionandmaintainquality outcomes.
Collaborate with liaison departments inmaintainingpatient care standards,identifyand resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Develop andmaintainunit-relatedpatient care standards through continuous quality improvement.
Maintain JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
Manage operation of unit.
Analyze personnel structure anddeterminestaffing needs and mix.
Provide direction and supervision, evaluate performance, conductselectionand terminationprocesses,and develop strategic plans.
Actively promote staff and self-development.
Participate in clinical nursing research andsupportsfoundation research activities.
Direct unit participation in evaluation of new products.
Approve purchases andestablishorreviseinventory quotes.
Assistin the development and monitoring ofthe budget.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’sof Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or the American Red Cross
Three years of recent clinical nursing experience,including at least one year of healthcare management experience
High degree of clinicalexpertisein the specialty area
Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master’sof ScienceinNursing(MSN)
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
