Job Summary
SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE for eligible Non-MGB employees:$3,000 for LCSW and $10,000 for LICSW
Starting rates:
LCSW: $68,224
LICSW: $92,227
This Inpatient Psychiatric Social Work position will collaborate with other multi-disciplinary professionals on a 24 bed, adult inpatient psychiatric unit to evaluate patients' psychiatric, medical or physical condition and to assess client needs as part of the interdisciplinary team. Inpatient Social Workers work collaboratively with all healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans that support patient-centered plans of care for both individual patients and the medical community.
Responsibilities include:
-Performing Individual psychosocial assessments
-Conducting daily individual sessions with assigned patients and leading one or more weekly Social Work treatment groups,
-Family outreach and counseling/psychoeducation as indicated
-Coordination with outpatient treatment team if applicable
-Timely completion of daily EMR documentation, psychosocial Assessments, Treatment Plans and Discharge Summaries that will satisfy clinical and regulatory requirements and arranging referrals related to aftercare as needed.
-Collaborates with and provides social work consultation to other disciplines within the setting.
Participates in daily Patient Rounds and Team meetings
-Participates on Departmental and Hospital committees as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.

Master's Degree Social Work required

Unlicensed:
Grace Period for License Eligibility [LICSW -Massachusetts]
Social Worker I:
Clinical experience in medical setting 0-1 year required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker [LCSW - State License required
Social Worker II
Clinical Experience in a medical setting 2-3 years required
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker [LICSW - State License] required
- Minimum of graduate level internship experience in relevant setting.
- Staff adheres to all C.A.R.E. Standards
- Knowledge of specific medical/psychiatric illnesses, procedures and treatments
- Excellent interpersonal skills including negotiation skills necessary to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to provide rapid clinical psychosocial and psychiatric assessments and brief treatment/management with individuals, families, couples and/or groups
- Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated competency in age specific behaviors
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of community agencies/resources. Ability to advocate/negotiate systems for/with patients
- Computer skills
