Cardiovascular Sonographer-Sign On Bonus up 30K! Full Time, Part Time and PRN!Under general supervision and following established protocols, the Echocardiography Technician performs echocardiograms that include two‑dimensional ultrasound imaging and Doppler flow analysis of the heart and related vascular structures. These studies support physicians in diagnosing cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases.
Employees in this role provide direct patient care and must demonstrate the appropriate competencies for the population they serve.

Minimum Education & Credentials
College‑level coursework in Echocardiography with extensive training in anatomy and disease; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Echocardiography from an accredited program is preferred.
Must hold RDCS, RVT, or CCI registry through ARDMS; registry‑eligible candidates must obtain certification within one year of placement.
BLS certification required upon hire or within six months.
Basic PC skills required for departmental databases and office software.

Ability to work effectively with managers, physicians, coworkers, and patients.
Strong communication skills, including conflict resolution, diplomacy, and teamwork within a small group.
Must maintain professionalism in all interactions.
Capable of sustained concentration and detailed work, including computer use for 40–70% of the shift.
Physical Requirements
Regular lifting of up to 50 lbs, with occasional assistance for heavier tasks.
Frequent pushing, pulling, and handling of equipment and patients.
Core Clinical Responsibilities
Perform transesophageal, stress, and transthoracic echocardiograms on patients of all ages in both critical and non‑critical settings.
Verify that the ordered procedure aligns with the patient’s clinical history and symptoms.
Recognize abnormalities and obtain additional diagnostic images as needed.
Follow all established laboratory protocols and document any exceptions.
Perform IV insertion and management per approved techniques.
Prepare and administer ultrasound‑enhancing agents according to policy.
Maintain sterile technique to prevent cross‑contamination.
Travel to multiple facilities may be required.
Patient Interaction & Preparation
Explain procedures and preparation steps to patients.
Gather relevant clinical information from the patient and medical records.
Adjust equipment controls and transducer positioning to obtain optimal images and Doppler data.
Differentiate artifacts from true anatomic/pathologic structures and adjust technique accordingly.
Diagnostic Measurement & Documentation
Measure cardiac wall thickness, chamber sizes, and blood flow velocities.
Calculate cardiac physiology metrics and valve areas per protocol.
Document and transmit all diagnostic data into the digital archive system accurately and promptly.
Recognize and urgently report critical findings to the appropriate provider.
Safety, Maintenance & Professional Development
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all equipment operation and maintenance standards.
Maintain all required professional credentials and complete echo‑specific CME to meet IAC accreditation standards.
Participate in departmental QA processes and assist with data collection for accreditation.
Stay current on knowledge of vascular disease.
Perform minor preventive maintenance and ensure labs are clean and stocked.
BMH‑Specific Requirement
Employees cross‑training in adult and pediatric sonography must achieve pediatric echocardiography competency within 6 months of beginning pediatric training.
Pediatric training is provided on the job, and competency is determined by the CVS Technical Director.
