Job Description

Summary

This position is a shared Physician-Scientist role between the Neonatology and Renal Divisions, with administrative oversight in Neonatology. The role supports collaboration in clinical care, research, and program development across both divisions, particularly for overlapping patient populations.

Job Duties

  • Follow institutional policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements for newborn care and patient safety.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, reliability, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in newborn medicine.
  • Excellent communication and family engagement abilities.
  • Competence in newborn procedures (e.g., circumcision).
  • Ability to teach and mentor trainees effectively.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, safety culture, and collaborative interdisciplinary practice.
  • Maintain all required licensure, certifications, and credentials.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: MD or DO with completion of a pediatric residency or equivalent neonatal training.
  • Experience: Prior experience in newborn nursery care, delivery attendance, or neonatal procedures preferred.
  • Certifications: Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics; current NRP certification required.
